In the Summer of 2024, Joshua moved to Muskegon, Michigan, living with his older brother Marcus. In the Fall of 2024, Tia moved into a house just down the road with Joshua’s step-sister, Mia, and his now sister-in-law, Ashley—already beginning to sound like the start of a something special.
With little knowledge of each other at first, Joshua and Tia were quietly being set up by the sisters. What began as a simple friendship slowly grew into something deeper.
Quickly after meeting, the desire of getting to know more and more about each other grew. With a bit of hesitation, Tia found herself intrigued by Joshua. Joshua consistently made an effort to be wherever Tia was, never missing an opportunity to be with her.
On February 23, 2025, they made it official. Families who had long suspected there was something more between them finally had their answer.
Marriage was something that quickly became a topic of discussion and after a few short months, the future was impossible not to think about. They discussed endless possibilities of what their lives could look like together, each and every one sounding too good to be true. After waiting and praying for a direction towards the future, Joshua found an opportunity to pursue a career in air traffic control in Tulsa, Oklahoma, while Tia completed her final semesters of nursing in Muskegon.
They were reminded that distance makes the heart grow fonder—and while this season of life was challenging, it was one they entered with determination, patience, and excitement, knowing the finish line was in sight. They trusted that the foundation which they had built their relationship on and their faith. They took every opportunity they could to visit.
Fast forward to December 2025, when Joshua took Tia on what she believed was a simple sunrise walk—he proposed to her on the wintery beach of Lake Michigan, on a cold but quiet morning. Luckily for him, she said yes, and immediately they started planning.
As Joshua returned to Oklahoma following the holidays, the two realized this chapter marked their final stretch apart, with forever just around the corner.
Join them in celebrating this wonderful event in the place it all started on August 16, 2026.
There wasn’t a question about who would be my Maid of Honor — Tal has always been my built‑in best friend and constant guide. As my older sister, she’s been a role model, a steady source of encouragement, and the person who knows me best. I think the greatest thing about her is that there’s never a dull moment, we’re always giggling and having fun! Tally is my person and someone I can trust with my life! We share so many of the same interests and passions. I feel as we continue to grow up I only cherish our relationship more and more. I I feel lucky to have a sister that I would pick in every lifetime!!
Josie is married to my brother! When we welcomed her into the family, I trusted my brother’s choice and quickly realized how lucky we all are. She’s shown the true meaning of sisterhood and friendship: warm, steady, and fun. Jos made this season so special—she has helped with planning all things wedding! I’m so grateful for the sister I’ve gained. I was able to stand by her on her wedding day and I feel so grateful to have her standing for mine too!
Grace is a relationship I’m so blessed to have. We became best friends in middle school and haven’t left each other’s side since. Summers at her pool with our other two best friends and years of soccer created so many sweet memories. Grace and I graduated high school together and started our new journey of moving out and living on our own together! We spent two years being roommates and it was some of the best memories that I will hold onto forever. We played soccer together at MCC and created another community here in Muskegon! For so many reasons Muskegon will always be a special place, but especially because it built our friendship in so many good ways. Grace is kind, reliable, and a person I can always count on no matter the distance or time apart. Grace is a lifelong friend, and I’m so grateful to have her standing with me.
Abby and I have been best friends since third grade, brought together by soccer, basketball, and volleyball. Growing up, we spent countless hours on the field and court—pushing each other, competing, and becoming who we are today. Abby brings laughter to every room but is also the person I can turn to for real, honest conversation. Her loyalty is what I admire most; I know she’s not going anywhere. She’s pure light and always a fun time. I’ve known since we were kids that she’d be standing by my side on a day like this.
Anna is a friendship I’ve always treasured. We clicked instantly in middle school and spent countless hours laughing on the court and field. She’s smart, confident, and someone I can rely on no matter the situation. Anna is our doctor friend and someone we have all known is going to do big things. With Anna comes a good time and a good friend. She has been by my side through it all and is a best friend I know to keep close. I’m grateful for the goofy, honest bond we share. Alongside Abby and Grace, Anna has been there for every milestone—I couldn’t imagine this day without her by my side.
Mia is Joshua’s stepsister and Nate’s daughter. We met in 2022 playing soccer at MCC; her personality stood out from the start. In 2024 we became roommates Ashley, Mia, and I shared the brown house while I started nursing school. Those months turned a fast friendship into something steady and true. Mia brings goofiness, warmth, and energy to every room; she’ll definitely be needed on the dance floor at the wedding. She’s shown support as both of her roommates married her step‑brothers, and her acceptance feels like family. I already felt like she was a sister, and now she truly is—a blessing to Joshua and me.
Avery is Joshua’s stepsister and Nate’s oldest daughter. Avery is my new bonus sister. So many sisters, I am lucky!! Since meeting Joshua's side of the family I have always appreciated how Avery has been so easy going, inclusive, and levelheaded. She and Mia, always ready for fun while keeping things grounded. Joshua and I feel lucky to have her in our lives, and I’m so lucky to gain another older sister in Avery. We’re grateful for her support and we are blessed to have her standing with us on our wedding day.
Ashley is married to Marcus (Joshua’s older brother), which makes her family by choice and my sister‑in‑law. Ash is honest, thoughtful, and goofy. We share so many interests and often fall into long, meaningful conversations; she’s warm and welcoming to everyone she meets. I can bring her anywhere and she’ll make the most of it while making new friends—always down for an adventure. I’m grateful to have so many sisters who are all a blessing in my life, Ash is such a bright, steady presence (and the best new mom to Donovan)!!
Marcus is my Co-Best Man and my older brother. At times Marcus has been my greatest enemy, other times it’s like we can solve anything together. Him being the oldest has always set the tone and a role model for both Derek and I. I was able to spend my first year out of high school living with him allowing us to grow closer. Between Marcus, Derek and I we share a lot of great memories together like, video games, fighting, penny wars, and fighting some more. All of which just ended up making us closer together and we get along great now.
Derek is my Co-Best Man, my younger brother, and partner in crime. Over the years Derek and I have had our fights but never kept grudges too long since we would likely still want to hangout later.
Clayton along with Landon and Charlie have been just like my brothers for about the last 10 years. Clayton and I have competed with and against each other for years, whether it’s basketball, a video game, or in the gym. We first became friends mostly because he and I were two of the tallest in elementary school, though Clayton has always had me by a couple inches, and now by almost a foot. Him and I can talk on a random day and have a 2 second conversation or a 2 hour one about anything. There was never a doubt about if I would want Clayton to stand with me as a Groomsman.
Landon and I became good friends when we were in the same 5th grade class, along with Clayton, who was already good friends with Landon. He’s been family ever since. Some summers I probably spent more time at his house then my own house, with his parents Kris and Jamie essentially being another set of parents who I am so thankful for. Landon and I would often times hang out and have zero plans for anything, other than knowing we’ll figure something out and it’s going to be a good time and never awkward. Landon is always amazing at helping to plan and host a night with the guys playing poker, or organizing a guys trip up north. I couldn’t imagine not asking Landon to stand with me as a Groomsman.
To be honest, I can’t even remember when Charlie and I truly became great friends, he’s always lived just a few streets down and been someone to compete against in everything. We’ve spent countless days meeting up in the summer or during the lockdown days, with one of us coming to the others driveway to play basketball and just playing until we’re sure we have heat exhaustion. Charlie’s more than just a neighborhood friend that I would meet with to walk to our early morning basketball practices though. We’ve spent plenty of nights bringing our Xbox’s to whoever’s house we’re staying at whether it’s Landon’s, Clayton’s, his, or mine. Some people are born brothers, some people will find theirs, and I consider myself incredibly blessed to have all of the above. I don’t think Clayton, Landon, or Charlie ever had to guess if I’d ask them to stand with me as Groomsmen.
Tucker is going to be my new brother-in law and from all that I’ve seen and heard from being around him and the Martinez family is that he’s probably been the greatest older brother Tia and her sister Tally ever could have asked for. Tucker has never been rude to me and always very welcoming, never once causing me to think I need to do something to win him over to like me or accept me. I am very thankful for who he is and has been to Tia so of course I wanted him to stand with me as a groomsman.
Michael is Tally’s fiancée, and as long as I’ve known Tia, Michael and Tally have been together. Michael has a great sense of humor and is also been very welcoming and easy to get along with. I am excited and honored for him to be a future brother-in law as well as stand with me as a groomsman.
Polished and stylish, but not overly dressy or casual, with flexible colors.
